The estate now represents 30 ha, 27 of which are in production and many old vines, in particular 7 ha of carignan, 3 of which were planted in 1910! The vineyard is in organic farming in order to promote the sustainability of the vines and the personality of the wines. The Faugères appellation spreads over the rugged terrain of the last foothills of the Cévennes north of Béziers;
Anecdotes about the domain
"Our harvest is manual and carefully sorted. The work in the cellar is classic and not very interventionist. No oenological input, apart from small doses of sulfites, the wines are often bottled without fining or filtration. The wine is aged between 18 and 24 months in concrete vats and French oak barrels with a small proportion of new barrels. We seek to produce wines of gastronomy, capable of aging, transparent to the expression of the terroir and the vintages and expressing themselves with finesse and complexity. "Since spring 2016, after 4 years of work at Chateau Autignac, we have opened our cellar and 5 guest rooms. A magnificent Spa will complete our facilities for the fall of 2020.
The domain's short story
1999 is the first vintage of Les Prés Lasses, a domain created by two friends who are passionate about wines. They then bought a few parcels of old vines in the Faugères vineyard and placed their vats in Autignac. Denis Feigel, after a career divided between winemaking and wine distribution, realizes a dream by launching his own vintage; since 2006 his son Boris has been in charge of the technical responsibility of the estate.
