Our vineyard is located in Gertwiller, close to Colmar, the capital of Alsace wines. We cultivate 11 hectares of vines located on 6 communes of the region in the greatest respect of the environment and the traditional Alsatian methods.

As a family, it is now David who is in the vineyards following in the footsteps of his father Jean-Marc. We work the vines according to the principles of sustainable agriculture: we naturally protect our vineyard from the diseases to which it is exposed.
For several years we have been working with the teachings of sustainable agriculture, we have embarked on a new challenge to go further in the respect of our land. The year 2019 is therefore a pivotal year for our estate as we wish to begin our conversion to organic farming.
In the vineyards, we find all 7 Alsatian grape varieties (Gewurztraminer, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Muscat, Sylvaner and Riesling) which make the single-variety vintages that we offer to Alsace wine lovers. From Riesling to Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris, our wines are straightforward and pure.

We recommend drinking them young and fresh. We offer dry, semi-dry and sweet wines: there is a Domaine Schneider wine for every moment!

Our village will please parents as much as it will please children, who will be able to taste the gingerbread produced in the village! A village for all tastes!

Our story

There is a spirit of family transmission in the Schneider Estate. It was
David's grandfather, the current winegrower,
who created the estate in 1930.

In the 1960s, he bought a house next to his vineyard and began to farm his land. At the time, Robert Schneider sold his wines in bulk: he was also at the time a wine buyer for Alsatian wine merchants. We call this profession,

wine

gourmet

at that time! With the

help of his wife Lily, they

work in their vineyards.
In a winegrower's family, it is quite naturally that Jean-Marc, Robert's son, grows up and spends his childhood in the vineyards. He naturally took over the estate and began major development work on the vineyard. He began by extending the size of the vineyard to the 11 hectares we know today. He continued by modernizing all the wine-growing equipment used in the vineyards and in the cellar. Jean-Marc is a true enthusiast and continues to develop
his father's wine
brokerage business
.
In 2007, following the sudden death of Jean-Marc, David stopped the studies he was currently doing to take over the estate. He particularly developed the sales of the estate's wines with bottling and initiated sales to
private individuals in
2009
.
David maintains a cuvée in homage to his grandfather Robert, made with the help of 2 parcels of vines planted by Robert himself. A cuvée with a fleshy mouthfeel and candied citrus fruit notes. A structured structure and a lot of freshness! Surprising as an aperitif or with a dessert
