For 4 generations, we have been striving to produce the best Pouilly sur Loire and Pouilly Fumé possible. The estate is located on the slopes of Pouilly-sur-Loire and St Andelain, on a vineyard of 17 hectares. We also own 2 hectares of vines from Montées St Lay.
"La Léontine", the estate's great-grandmother, is at the origin of the creation of the vineyard. All the work in the vineyard and wine is still influenced by this outstanding winemaker.
Born in 1889, Léontine produced its wine with its 2 hectares of vines. Today, the main estate is located on a terroir of marl and small fossilized oysters on "white lands". This terroir gives all its complexity to the wines. The vines, which are on average 35 years old and some others 100 years old, are cultivated in a way that respects our environment and our work is as rational as possible. On the other hand, 2 hectares of vines located on the slopes of St Lay on the côtes de la Charité are cultivated on a vast vineyard that extends from La Charité sur Loire to Nevers.
The Léontine cuvée is a tribute to our great-grandmother, who was at the origin of the estate and the excellence of our Pouilly-Fumé wines. She first passed on her know-how to Louis and Emile (our great-grandfather) and then to her grandson Serge (our father). Today, it still inspires us and serves as a model in the quest for the well-done work we cultivate every day. Léontine is the soul of Domaine Serge Dagueneau & Fils and it is our duty to transmit his heritage and his love for the land, the vine and the wine.
