Domaine Trapet-Rochelandet is located in the middle of the Côtes de Nuits, in Burgundy, in the famous commune of Gevrey-Chambertin. Laurent likes to tell his guests how happy and fortunate he is to be able to work in these high places in the Burgundy region. Benefiting from the local climates -recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage-, the family estate cultivates vines on the heights of the village from generation to generation. Since 2015, Laurent has taken over the reins of the estate from his father François, and the estate covers 7 hectares spread over the most renowned hillsides in the region. Among them is the climate of Les Ruchottes where one of the Grands Crus of Gevrey-Chambertin is produced, renowned for its exceptional aromatic richness. With a dozen vintages, including seven reds and two whites, Domaine Trapet-Rochelandet has become a must in the region.
The estate cultivates 7 hectares of vines spread, according to the appellations, on the slopes of one of the most renowned finages in Burgundy. The vines are essentially composed of noble grape varieties: pinot noir for the reds, aligoté and chardonnay for the whites. Vinification is carried out in the old fashioned way, respecting traditional Burgundian methods adapted to modern technical means. The wines are aged in oak barrels for 8 to 18 months or in stainless steel vats.
At Domaine Trapet-Rochelandet, insects are regularly counted in the plots. This allows us to better know and protect the biodiversity in the vines. We have been awarded the "High Environmental Value" (HVE) label, which promotes sustainable viticulture. We are also involved with the Côte d'Or General Council on a project to implement a deposit system for wine bottles. We are defending this project for all Burgundian winegrowers with an economic and ecological objective.
