Domaine Trapet-Rochelandet is located in the heart of the Côtes de Nuits, in Burgundy, in the famous commune of Gevrey-Chmabertin. Laurent likes to tell his guests how happy and fortunate he is to be able to work in these high places of the Burgundy region, benefiting from the local climates - recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site - and the family property cultivates the vines on the heights of the village from generation to generation. Today, Laurent takes over the estate from François, his father, and extends over 7 hectares spread over the most famous hills in the region. Among them are its plots on the climate of Les Ruchottes where one of the Grands Crus of Gevrey-Chambertin is produced, known for its exceptional aromatic richness. With about ten vintages, seven red and two white, Domaine Trapet-Rochelandet has become a must in the region.
The estate cultivates 7 hectares of vines spread out, according to the appellations, on the slopes of one of the most renowned fineries in Burgundy. The vines are mainly composed of noble grape varieties: pinot noir for the reds and aligoté for the whites. The vinification is carried out in the traditional Burgundian way, using traditional Burgundian methods adapted to modern techniques. The wines are aged in oak barrels for 8 to 18 months or in stainless steel vats.
At Domaine Trapet-Rochelandet, we count the insects present on the estate. This dynamic makes it possible to protect the biodiversity present in the vines. This has earned us the High Environmental Value (HVE) label. We are also involved with the Conseil Général de Côte d'Or on a project to implement a deposit for wine bottles. We defend this project for all Burgundian winegrowers with an economic and ecological objective.
