From the beginning of the 20th century, Joseph Zink had already oriented himself towards the search for superior quality in his production. At that time, when the "Grands Crus" and the terroirs were not yet hierarchically classified, and when priority was still given to yield, he chose plots with exceptional qualitative potential. Since then, these terroirs, often difficult to cultivate, not valued and with a lower yield, have been recognised and are now awarded the appellation "Grand Cru" and "lieu dit". But the terroir, even if its action is important and recognized in our great wines, is not the only decisive element of quality. Indeed, the work in the vineyard (pruning, ploughing, grassing, organic amendments, harvesting, etc.) and in the cellar (pressing, thermoregulation, vinification) play an important role in the production of our great wines.
Specialized in the production and maturing of top-of-the-range wines for more than 11 generations, we have been able, from father to son, to preserve and transmit our know-how. In our cellars dating from 1616, the respect for traditional vinification in oak barrels perpetuates all the qualities and exceptional temperament of our wines, giving them a deep personality. It is thanks to the mastery of our ancestral practices, combined with new knowledge and techniques that we can offer you wines of character that reflect our sensitivity, our passion and our terroirs.
