Don't look for "our Ramatuelle" by the sea, because we are in the heart of green Provence, far from the beaches, near Brignoles, where the vines have flourished for nearly 2,000 years, as shown by the Gallo-Roman remains discovered a short time ago (2017) at the source of the estate, with tanks and presses! But it was in 1936 that the family adventure began with the installation of my great-grandfather. Today, we are with my husband Hughes, the fourth generation to live and work on the land of Ramatuelle. Since 2006, alongside, and then following in the footsteps of my father Bruno Latil, we have endeavoured to pursue with passion the work of this pioneer of the Coteaux Varois en Provence appellation. This is how we have logically abandoned weedkillers and cultivate the land with the aim of leaving the winegrowers of tomorrow a living terroir. Similarly, we are committed to producing wines that are similar to us and reflect our terroir, beyond fashions and trends.
After studying agricultural engineering in Toulouse, then two years of International Solidarity Volunteering in the Central African Equatorial Forest among the Bayaka pygmies, we decided to make our dream of making a living from agriculture come true, and to pursue the family wine-making adventure, by settling in the estate, to work and live there. We had to go very far and experience adventure and destitution to make this decision: for us, being a winegrower is more than a profession, it is a choice of life!
The story may seem Spanish, but it is nonetheless authentic: the day our first daughter was born, the source of the estate began to flow again. With these two gifts from heaven we had the name of our installation vintage: "God's blessing" (which is also Ramatuelle's etymology)!
