The Domaine de Galuval, located in the Rhône Valley, traces its origins back to the end of the 19th century.
Nestled between the village of Cairanne, belvedere of the Côtes du Rhône, and the village of Rasteau, a true Provençal crib, the Galuval estate prospers under the benevolence of Mont Ventoux, Saint Amand, and the Dentelles de Montmirail. It has

In this spirit, the soils are worked and amended in order to promote microbial life and water retention, which is so important in a dry and windy Mediterranean climate. The prophylactic methods implemented (trellising of certain grape varieties, disbudding, green harvesting, etc.) make it possible to significantly reduce the need for phytosanitary protection and improve the general condition of the harvest. In order to obtain wines that retain the natural power of Grenache but which gain in finesse and elegance year after year, we have set up an ambitious restructuring programme in the vineyard. Thus, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignan will take a more important place in future blends, while keeping a majority of Grenache noir. The
spices and body of Syrah, the natural freshness of Mourvèdre and the delicacy of Carignan accompany the power of Grenache.
By vatting with as little handling as possible, the wines obtained have a fine tannin grain and a clear aromatic taste. Vinified by grape varieties and plots, the wines are blended before maturing in a concern for balance. The
blends thus obtained are matured for one year in casks for some of our vintages, in order to reinforce the complexity of the wines by a gentle oxidation, while avoiding the pitfall of a too present
After many years spent abroad, Nicole and Jean-François TRONTIN fall under the spell of the Domaine de Galuval site and the quality of its vineyard, which will allow them to achieve excellence.
With this in mind, they entrusted the management of the estate to Jean-François FARINET, an experienced oenologist from the Rhône Valley.
Galuval is more of a creative project than a takeover project insofar as the objectives, the range, the cellar and the restructuring of the vineyard, totally change its face!
