Anecdotes about the domain
One day, Ronan is scouting for plots of land for sale in his favorite region. Happiness! He finds one! Very beautiful, not too big nor too small, it's all he needs to start. He calls me and says: "Hello Brice?! Dude, I have something to propose to you..." "Christilla, what do you think?" "Is this a joke? But you are dreaming?" and Christilla said yes: the gift was and the adventure began... From then on, the big mess started... We started our agricultural activity next to our work as employees, it is a challenge but it is worth it. It's exciting to observe the evolution of the vines, the power of nature, to act to straighten their stage. Tasting the wine is to witness its evolution, to think about the path we would like it to follow so that it becomes our wine. It has been an intense adventure with Benoît Braujou; we have also been supported by the Clos des Augustins. What a fairy tale to tell the children!
The domain's short story
"Once upon a time ".... two couples of friends who, wanting to return to the land to rebel, to reveal themselves, to work, to laugh and to enjoy, decided to buy a plot of vineyards and olive trees. You could have met us and nothing would have told you that our challenge is to pay tribute to the land, we are ordinary people. Our wish and all our efforts have been so that you can imagine and feel what unites us, tasting our products in good company.
The winemaker's pride
I am certainly not the most appropriate or best placed to tell all this, but I love to do so! Our first parcel is at the foot of the chapel of Saint Geniès, whose calade has just been restored, which is the origin of our name. We are located at the exit of the Gorges de l'Hérault where the soil is limestone and the exposure is due south.and to think that our old vines should have been pulled out... They have seen a lot of tractors and resulted in a lot of soil compaction but they were spared, that's the main thing. The soil life was dying but we tried to revive it by working with animal traction. We feed this life with manure from local sheep. This sacrifice has divided by four the previous yield. But for what quality! The harvest is always festive thanks to the precious and indispensable help of friends and family. We rent a cottage to welcome them and it is the occasion to celebrate the meeting!
