Anecdotes about the domain
Our objective is to let the character of our terroir express itself, which gives us unique vintages every year. We believe that an agricultural product should not be standardized and our choice leads us to assemblies that we like above all. We harvest by hand, surrounded by family and friends, the grapes are sorted at that time. Only the grapes that are considered perfect in the vines enter the cellar. No risk, we make our wines with a minimum of physical handling to avoid "injuring" the product, then we let our wines rest quietly in barrels for at least 24 months (for red AOCs) before blending and bottling. for VDNs, it takes longer: in 2016, the 2010 and 2011 vintages, which aged in barrels and bottles outside, are marketed. but the best thing to do is to taste, it's worth a long speech.
The domain's short story
Originally from Normandy looking for a new place to live, in 2005 we were seduced by this magnificent property surrounded by a sublime landscape. We have invested in equipment to be able to produce our wines on site. We surrounded ourselves with professionals who listened to us a lot, and we thought together to release our first vintage in 2010. In a garden shed, but ours!... And that's how we got into the game, we built our winery, started replanting abandoned terraces, we bring back life to an agricultural property of the Aspres, we develop it, we strive to maintain and enhance this incomparable terroir to which we have attached ourselves... If the notion of holidays has disappeared for us, the pleasure of investing in this project is there and we get great satisfaction.
The winemaker's pride
The estate is located at the foot of the Pyrenees in Roussillon. It benefits from a wide diversity of terroirs: clayey, stony, and schistose. This allows each cuvée to have a particular flavour that is typical of its terroir of origin. The vineyard extends over 8 hectares, most of which are old vines over 60 years old. The grape varieties are varied in Roussillon, and allow us to elaborate typical blends: we cultivate Grenache noir, Carignan, Syrah, Grenache gris, and Muscat d'Alexandrie. For more than 12 years, the estate has been cultivated according to "organic" methods, and since 2015 we have had official certification.
