In the heart of Occitania, on the thousand-year-old Gaillac vineyard, 22 hectares of vines, an atypical architectural belvedere, and a small stream (the "riou" in Occitan) that borders the whole, welcome to our playground: the Mas del Riou!
Ludovic is from Tarn, Carole is from Aveyron, who said that Tarn and Aveyron did not mix well?!While the grapes from the estate had been delivered to the cooperative cellar for 8 years, Ludovic had decided to restart winemaking. Carole, by putting her bags down at the estate just after the first harvest, arrived just at the beginning of this new adventure, the alchemy was obvious, the passion shared, and since the beginning of 2018 it is as a duo that the story is written.
For us, the great winegrower's adventure is mainly about the vine: respect for the soil, biodiversity and above all the life of the plant. We practice reasoned and reasonable viticulture, combining both prophylaxis and biological control techniques, and are involved in "research and development" activities through working and exchange groups, but also through partnerships and constant monitoring of new wine-making practices. In 2017, thanks to this work, the estate obtained High Environmental Value (HVE) Level 3 certification.
