Located at the foot of the Giant of Provence, the Terre de Ghaya estate is a true family property that came into being in 2019. The vineyard dates back to the 1900's and is located in the commune of BEDOIN on the terroir of the AOC VENTOUX. Chokri and his daughter Coralie run the estate with passion and attach great importance to sustainable development and the preservation of nature. They built their own cellar, an ecological cellar. The cellar is located in a north-facing position, which contributes to the thermal control of the cellar and allows a natural air-conditioning. The vinification area has been semi-buried in order to be able to practice a gravity vinification and also to keep the cellar cool. There is no air-conditioning in the cellar or in the winery. Rainwater recovery tanks have been buried in the ground, in order to reuse the rainwater for the sanitary facilities and for washing the floor. They continue their commitment with the passage to organic farming in 2021. The terroir is composed mainly of clay-limestone soils with a high organic content, but also sandy and stony soils, the vineyard has a varied terroir that allows to bring complexity in the wines they offer. The grape varieties are diversified, they grow in white grapes: Roussane, Viognier, Grenache, and Clairette. And in black grapes: Marselan, Syrah, Cinsault, Grenache, Carignan, Merlot and Caladoc.

Our story

Our winery is a unique place, where we practice gravity-fed vinification. Where traditional winemaking uses pumps, gravity-fed winemaking allows us to work the grapes with respect, the aim being to let the wine flow, so as not to damage it, while at the same time having an economic stake: using as little electricity as possible.Gravity vinification requires a fully adapted cellar, from the reception of the grapes to their transfer to the vats, since the grapes enter the upper part of the cellar where the selection of the fruit begins, and are then poured directly into the fermentation vats without the help of pumps.
