Our property is located in the commune of Baurech.

With our 20 hectares of vineyards that we have been working for over 30 years in sustainable agriculture, we produce a wide range of wines. You will find on the one hand cabernet sauvignon, merlot and malbec for our red and rosé wines, and on the other hand semillon and sauvignon blanc for our dry and sweet white wines and our crémant.
Our vineyards are located on the slopes of the Garonne (commune of Baurech and Tabanac), and benefit from clay-limestone soils allowing the vine to draw mineral elements from deep within the soil and a climate that is favorable to its development.

Our story

The estate was acquired by our ancestors in the 19th century. At first they worked as ploughmen for the neighbouring chateaux, then they owned a hectare of vines, and over the generations they became winegrowers and winemakers.

Today, the sixth generation begins with the same desire to produce quality wines while respecting nature and people.

The year 2022 marks a turning point in the history of the vineyard because we begin a diversification and a work in agro-ecology. The vineyard becomes the Domaine de Melin and its vineyard the Château MELIN. In the years to come, the estate will develop livestock workshops as well as fruit crops and medicinal and edible plants.
This year, we will also start the ecopaturage in our vineyards, partnerships with local beekeepers and also the implantation of melliferous hedges.

Other little stories

Pascal, our winemaker and vineyard owner, is a great lover of humor.

He tells you his anecdote:

"The rocket that you can see in the attached pictures inspired me! During the first open days after the installation of the rocket, I had fun telling curious customers that the rocket had landed there, I had done everything possible to make them believe it (signs, safety tape, etc...). It was then complicated the following years to explain to the customers who asked me if I had heard from NASA and others that it was finally only an artistic work! Moral: if you come to meet us at the estate, humor is a must! "

To be continued, perhaps new finds ...
