Located in the commune of Saint Caprais de Blaye, 60 kilometres north of Bordeaux, Château des Tourtes covers 70 hectares and produces wines, 15 of which are dedicated to the production of white grapes: Sauvignon blanc (80%), Sémillon (15%) and Muscadelle (5%). The rest of the vineyard is reserved for the production of red grapes: Merlot (72%), Cabernet Sauvignon (14%), Malbec (7%), Petit Verdot (6%) and Carménère (1%).
On its siliceous clay soils and gravelly subsoils, the Raguenot family produces a classic cuvée in white, red and rosé, as well as a prestigious cuvée in red and white. The Attribute of the Tourtes is the jewel of the vineyards with a selection of plots to obtain the quintessence of the know-how of the Château des Tourtes In Haut-Médoc appellation, Château Haut Beyzac is located on 35 hectares of the commune of Vertheuil. Rich in an exceptional geology with clayey-calcareous soil, the vineyard is composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, the grape variety of choice of this terroir, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Two very distinct vintages are imagined and elaborated in very different winemaking, maturing and blending models. We discover two wines that are subtle, fresh and complex.
Founded in 1967, Vignobles Raguenot thrives thanks to the pioneering and visionary spirits of Lise and Philippe Raguenot, and in 1997, their two daughters Emmanuelle and Marie-Pierre, associated with their respective husbands, Daren Miller and Eric Lallez, take over the Château des Tourtes vineyard in the Blaye-Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. All four are in career transition, and thanks to their experience and talents, they are now working as winegrowers, after each has taken up training in viticulture and oenology. 1998 saw the acquisition by our four musketeers of the Château Haut Beyzac vineyard located in Vertheuil in the Haut Médoc appellation.
