In the Médoc Peninsula, between the ocean and the estuary, the Vignobles Roland vineyards flourish in three appellations. Our AOC Médoc vines are located around several villages with the most famous names in the South-West of France: Civrac, Saint-Yzans, Blaignan, Saint-Christoly. The spreading of the vines on these clayey-limestone and sandy plains brings to our wine a richness and complexity of aromas. Our AOC Haut-Médoc wines come from the vineyards located behind our château, Beyzac, and near a medieval abbey in Vertheuil. The region's important wine-growing past bears witness to the quality and richness of the soil, where it is not uncommon to find the remains of Gallo-Roman buildings that once stood on this site. The vines of the prestigious Saint-Estèphe appellation have the particularity of being located on gravelly slopes that plunge into the estuary and benefit from ideal sunshine.

Other little stories

Château Beyzac is a mysterious place rich in history. During the revolution, the "fanatics" and "nobles" were locked up there on the orders of the Revolutionary Security Council of Lesparre. A poet from Bordeaux, Romain Dupérier de Larsan, will walk in the Médoc to Château Beyzac to free his mother. He wrote his exploit in his poem "Les Verroux Révolutionnaires".

Another mystery would be the existence of a tunnel between the castle and the abbey of Vertheuil.... We haven't found it yet, but who knows, maybe one day!
