Pretty nose that needs oxygenation to reveal smoky aromas of licorice, ink, plum and pepper. On the palate, a rich and structured wine with a well-balanced, tasty, dense and expressive mid-palate and rich, well-integrated tannins with just the right astringency. Beautiful finish, intense, persistent, very expressive.

The word of the Winemaker, :

Château Cantinot is our emblematic cuvée, a pure Bordeaux as we like it, with the right balance of Merlot and Cabernet on our beautiful terroirs of blue clay and limestone. We reproduce the same blend every year in order to let each vintage's specificity express itself.

The Wine Estate

Château Cantinot is at the heart of the Blaye appellation, Côtes de Bordeaux with 27 hectares of vines. The soil is composed of sand, gravel, clay and limestone. Part of the vines are planted on the famous blue clays which represent a real geological jewel! The Merlot, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Cabernet-Franc grapes, which are on average 25 years old, express themselves wonderfully. They are planted at 4,500 vines per hectare, which is a very good level....
