The Wine Estate

Since its birth in 1676, this beautiful wine château built on plans by Jules-Hardouin Mansart and André Le Nôtre - whose main door was carved with a Bacchus, God of wine - has remained a family home. The descendants of the founder, Jean-François de La Chaize d'Aix, looked after the estate for nearly three hundred and fifty years. In 2017, they passed it on to another family, that of Christophe Gruy. Determined to magnify this remarkable vineyard with the greatest respect for nature, he developed, with Boris Gruy - his nephew and Director of Operations of the estate - a daring ecological approach: conversion to organic viticulture, then biodynamic viticulture, recovery of each by-product of the winegrowing activity in a zero-waste dynamic, use of machinery, vehicles and equipment running solely on electricity with the goal of "zero CO2 emissions", and a parcel-by-parcel approach.

Le millésime 2018 fait merveille en Beaujolais, et cela se ressent sur ce Côte de Brouilly dont la concentration est au delà des standards de l'appellation. A boire maintenant ou à conserver un peu... si on y arrive
