Château de la Robine tells the story of men and vines in the Drôme Provençale, a family estate since 1887, with over two centuries of experience in the production of quality wines. Each generation contributes to the building to sublimate the terroir, benefiting from a terroir located on the high and very high alluvial terraces of the Rhône, the vineyard is established on garrigue soils and hillsides, composed of clay and limestone soils, silty sands, pebbles and scree. This terroir has been in use since ancient times, as evidenced by the many Roman remains in the region. The vineyard grew and was recognized in 1964 for its quality wines by the adoption of the appellation decree. On the estate, there are different varieties of grape varieties, such as Syrah, Grenache, Viognier or Carignan, which are typical of the Rhone Valley. But some are very common such as Chardonnay or Clairette. Old vines over 50 years old (Carignan, Grenache) allow the production of complex and elegant wines.
As frequent travellers, we packed our bags in the Drôme provençale to take over the family estate and take up the challenge: to make wines that are friendly and full of character. Committed to preserving our environment, we practice sustainable agriculture that respects biodiversity. Our wish: to be labelled High Environmental Value within two years!
The mysterious tree that inspires us? The Ginkgo Biloba. The century-old tree, symbol of longevity, dominates the estate and sparkles in the autumn like a thousand gold écus. A baptismal nickname for our first white wine!
