Powerful and complex nose, aromas of stewed red fruits. Notes of caramel and bergamot. Ample and rich on the palate without the character of ageing in wood being noticeable. Grenache gives its full measure by tannins that are both powerful and delicate. Nice length.
The schist soils cling to the Piedmont of the Pic de la Coquillade, which rises to 650m. The high-altitude terroirs are those whose nocturnal freshness allows for a gentle maturation and the most elegant expression of aromas. Soils composed of limestone and shale.
The grapes are harvested by hand at optimum maturity. Sorting and fermentation in small vats corresponding to the volume of each plot. Long vatting period (35 to 40 days) favouring very gentle extractions.
