Dark colour, dark garnet. Powerful, intense nose, dominated by black fruit compote. Notes of roasting, Havana and cocoa supported by a dash of pepper. Full-bodied on the palate, fleshy, very ripe tannins, very long finish. Beautiful presence in the mouth. Very good ageing potential.
The schist soils cling to the Piedmont of the Pic de la Coquillade, which culminates at 650m. The high-altitude terroirs are those whose nocturnal freshness allows for a gentle maturation and the most elegant expression of aromas.
Hand-picked from the oldest Grenache and Syrah vines. Sorting and fermentation in vats, plot by plot. Long vatting period 30 to 35 days, with a preference for gentle extractions.
