The colour is deep red. The nose reveals great richness and aromatic complexity with intense aromas of ripe fruit and violet. A beautiful roundness and length on the palate which is characterized by silky tannins, melted and spicy notes.

In the Middle Ages, Castellum was the name of the central Castrum, a fortified village located on the heights of the Languedoc. The name of this wine evokes the fortifications of the City of Carcassonne, listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

The Wine Estate

Château l'Hospitalet is located on the La Clape nature reserve, an ancient island in Gallo-Roman times. The estate has more than 1,000 hectares, 82 of which are planted with vines. In the middle of this terroir and garrigue, the vineyard is protected from the vagaries of nature by a cliff.
