Its colour is limpid and brilliant, amber with a light brown caramel. On the nose, our Maury reveals a life of maturation and gives us the thread of its existence: intense notes of gingerbread, vanilla and cinnamon are the sign of a highly coloured vintage and a freshness that is still almost youthful for a wine over 80 years old. Notes of candied fruit and cherries in brandy exacerbate this surprising freshness. The maturity then shows through aromas of blond tobacco, nuts and leather. On the palate, the tannins have completely melted, integrated into the perfect balance between a surprisingly persistent vigour and the suave warmth of candied sugar. The fruit is crunchy, the structure tense. The whole breathes harmony, finesse and complexity.

The terroir of Maury is made up of secondary schistose marls whose layered structure gives the roots the possibility of sinking deep into the soil to find the necessary moisture for their nourishment. The black colour allows them to absorb heat during the day...

The Wine Estate

Château l'Hospitalet is located on the La Clape nature reserve, an ancient island in Gallo-Roman times. The estate has more than 1,000 hectares, 82 of which are planted with vines.
