This Maury offers itself to us with a beautiful mahogany dress with brilliant reflections. The nose is rich, powerful and dense. The first notes evoke prune, currant or fig, and evolve gently towards subtle scents of tobacco and pink pepper. On the palate, the wine is powerful and well-structured, supported by pretty, well rounded tannins. One finds the currant note but also morello cherry scents. A beautiful acidity gives a very harmonious palate, with a long and persistent finish. A powerful wine, particularly representative of the steep, sunny terroirs of the Maury terroir.

The terroir of Maury is made up of secondary schistose marls whose layered structure gives the roots the possibility of sinking deep into the soil to find the necessary moisture for their nourishment. The black colour allows them to absorb heat during the day...

The Wine Estate

Château l'Hospitalet is located on the La Clape nature reserve, an ancient island in Gallo-Roman times. The estate has more than 1,000 hectares, 82 of which are planted with vines. In the middle of this terroir and garrigue, the vineyard is protected from the vagaries of nature by a cliff.
