The word of the Winemaker, :

The vines of the En Pommards plot are vigorous with their wood a little crooked. These wrinkles tell us about years of growth under the expert hand of the winemaker. The plot is halfway up the hillside, slightly sloping. The northeast exposure induces a somewhat slower maturation of the grapes...
