(84) Vaucluse

The estate is located in a secluded valley 350 metres above the southern Rhone Valley, between the Dentelles de Montmirail and Mont Ventoux, and comprises 32 hectares of vines in the Côtes du Rhône Villages Séguret appellation. The old vines were purchased by the McKinlay family in 1998 and the state-of-the-art winery was then built into the hillside to allow gravity flow and natural cooling. The steeply sloped vineyard is primarily composed of clay and limestone which, combined with the microclimate, gives the area a unique quality terroir.

Our story

We adopt a careful viticulture using organic and biodynamic techniques, combined with low interventionist winemaking and patient ageing, resulting in well-structured wines with pronounced fruit aromas and dynamic energy.

Other little stories

The vineyard is currently managed by Kate McKinlay, daughter of the founders, and winemaker Sebastien Magnouac. Since arriving at Domaine de Mourchon over 20 years ago, Sébastien has created a unique signature for the wines from the terroir, which have consistently received reviews of over 90% from the international press.
