The colour is magnificent of a deep garnet red with very beautiful purple reflections signs of a particular care that to the property in the harvest of its Cabernet Franc grapes in terms of maturity, and integrity of the berries. The nose is delicate, complex and dense. With the usual charm of Saumur Champigny, the mature Cabernet Franc delivers more black fruit aromas (blackberries, blackcurrants...) than red fruits (cherries, strawberries...). The palate is perfectly balanced. It is round and velvety on the attack, with an astonishing and rich olfactory continuity. The tannins are present but round and totally silky.
This cuvée is made from old vines planted between 1933 and 1950.
This cuvée is perfect for immediate consumption, but can evolve over 3 to 5 years.How ?
This cuvée will go well with red meats (tournedos, beef tatar, lamb chops). As well as small game birds and game animals. And also your cheeses, whether they have a flowery crust (Brie, Saint Marcelin) or a washed crust.
