Surrounded by woods and moors, the estate extends over 250 hectares, 27 of which are devoted to vineyards, in a natural setting of hillsides 14 km southwest of Carcassonne. The vines flourish thanks to a warm and temperate climate as well as the winds coming from the ocean. Our know-how combined with a variety of grape varieties, manual harvesting of certain plots, traditional vinification and maturation in oak barrels, allow us to create sincere wines (white, red and rosé) with a beautiful balance between wood and fruit.
Coming from an engineering background, I wanted to return to an agricultural activity, to work the land and the vines. In 2005, I took over the estate in ruins, which was not exploitable. We replanted everything and started by selling our grapes. In order to offer a quality wine, we waited 10 years to release our first "Cuvée du renouveau" (blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah). It was important for me to find in our wines a particularity and tonalities different from the other estates in the region, which is why our reds but also our whites are vinified in oak barrels.
When I chose to change professions at 45, my wish was simple, to bring something new. In order to offer valued wines, I waited 10 years to release my first bottles. The profession of winegrower is exciting and at times magical; some barrels come from the same cooper, the same producer, everything is identical but at the tasting none of them are similar. A phenomenon that is difficult to explain, we taste them every month and each time it is a new discovery!
