In 2005, Ludovic took the big step and joined his parents at the Domaine des Bénédictins: Clébert, the great-grandfather, Klébert, the grandfather and Alain the father. 4 generations, and still the same passion for wine and their vines The history of the estate has crossed 4 generations. The first 3 were involved in mixed farming, today I devote myself fully to my passion, which is to make wine.
I took over from my parents in 2005 when the vineyard covered 16 hectares of vines. Now, it covers an area of 43 hectares divided between the wines of Anjou and Saumur.
For me, it was always obvious to take over from my parents, I have been a passionate person since I was very young. It has not always been easy to impose my cultivation techniques and winemaking methods. I only use organic fertilizers, the whole vineyard is grassed every other row to create competition with the vine.
The one that is not is worked to allow the roots to go deep into the soil to express itself with the greatest respect for nature and to promote microbial life. What I like about my daily life is the diversity of the tasks of my profession, between cultivation, vinification and of course the finality, the contact with the customers who express their taste of my vintages. Wine is a product of exchange, sharing and conviviality.
