Our 25 hectares of vines are located in the heart of the "Côtes de Provence", the birthplace of rosé wines for 2000 years. Thanks to its sandy subsoil which protects us from the heat, the mistral wind which provides dry air and more than 3000 hours of sunshine per year, our terroir offers ideal conditions for fresh and elegant red wines.
At the beginning of this century, the Domaine des Féraud and the Domaine de Peissonnel formed a single estate. The latter was planted in 1927 by Paul Rival, owner of Château Guiraud, 1er Cru de Sauternes. Long before the Côtes de Provence officially existed, this great precursor was already looking for grape varieties likely to produce great Provence wines. Although yields are low, our skeletal soil is ideal for producing wines of character that are distinguished by their freshness and elegance. Today, the two estates together produce an original range of great red, rosé and white wines, in AOC Côtes de Provence and in Vins de Pays des Maures.
Paul Rival was one of the first to plant Syrah from Hermitage, Semillon from Graves and Cabernet Sauvignon from the Médoc. A wise man and a great observer of nature, he knew how to choose a very special terroir on the road from Vidauban to Saint Tropez, made up of Permian sand and sandstone, with quartz pebbles mixed in. He is a friend who taught me a lot but I prefer to keep his identity a secret...
We have devoted ourselves to the grape varieties of our region, with organic viticulture and vinification close to the soil. It is simply the notion of pleasure that motivates us to go and work in our vineyards to embellish and refine the nectar from our vines. We are very attached to the work of our vines.
