Located in the heart of the vineyard with a breathtaking view of the Dentelles de Montmirail, Domaine Grand-Père Jules has perpetuated its passion for wine for four generations.

In order to closely follow the evolution of the market but also a strong environmental ethic, the vineyard has evolved considerably over the last fifteen years. Through the acquisition and sale of plots of land, we have constantly sought a balance between producing quality wines, rigorously selecting our grape varieties and, more generally, working the land with the greatest respect, which remains our core business.

Today we produce Côtes-du-Rhône, IGP Vaucluse, Côtes-du-Rhône Village Plan De Dieu and Côtes-du-Rhône Village Sablet. Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Merlot but also Viognier and Marsanne are part of our range of grape varieties.

In 2001, the estate was entirely converted to organic farming. This structuring and necessary decision allows us to no longer use chemical weedkillers or insecticides. We prefer natural fertilizers based on vegetable compost, in particular grape marc, which softens the soil, recreating a very strong microbial life in the subsoil. In order to fight against diseases, we use foliar fertilizers based on trace elements with a very limited copper content. All our vines are grassed and worked under the row.

The monitoring of the harvest and vinification is carried out with the greatest care, right up to bottling. The elegance of our wines is a priority.

Our story

It was in 1880 that Jules Henry decided to create a winery. Although this one does not yet have this name, it is the famous "Grandfather Jules". After his death, it was René, his third son, who decided to take over and rename the Domaine de La Tuilerie. Its vineyard is then represented by hectares of the Côtes-du-Rhône regional appellation of the time. René eventually sold the business to his eldest son, Gérard. He modernizes, expands and develops the Domaine's vintages with talent and passion. It was also he who gave birth to the Domaine known as the "Grandfather Jules" estate.

More than 100 years later, his son Xavier, now at the head of the family business, is as passionate as his ancestors about his business. Since time immemorial, it has been the love of working the land and the constant quest for excellence that has guided the work of our winegrowers from father to son. A business to be continued...

Other little stories

In the family, passion does not only revolve around wine. Gastronomy has always been important to complete this elixir. The proof of this is the existence of a restaurant, within the estate itself, in the middle of the vineyards.

Auberge La Tuilerie is a charming establishment, created by Gérard's wife in the 1980s. Today, Sylvie is at the head of it, offering you an inventive and tasty Mediterranean cuisine, in an exceptional and bucolic setting. The idea is to discover all our vintages by tasting quality dishes. The circle is complete.

Do not hesitate to visit us for a gourmet break in the heart of an authentic family estate.
