One family, two estates ...Domaine Jean-Claude Courtault and Domaine S et V Michelet, headed by Stéphanie and Vincent Michelet. Nearly 30 ha in all, the 4 appellations of Chablisien + 1 Bourgogne Epineuil. The vines have always been cultivated using sustainable viticulture. The aim is to go even further, with itineraries that are ever closer to organic farming. The estate is located at the top of the hill of Lignorelles. The vineyard, mostly in the north-west of Chablis, is quite scattered, with varied terroirs, more or less chalky. The wines are vinified with the objective of freshness, minerality and expression of the terroir.

Our story

In the beginning was the Domaine Jean-Claude Courtault, created in 1984 by JC Courtault, Stéphanie's father. She and her husband Vincent Michelet joined him in 2007. In 2008, they also created their own estate: Domaine Stéphanie and Vincent Michelet. The two estates worked in synergy for 12 years. In 2019, Stéphanie and Vincent took over the Domaine Courtault ... Today they operate 30 Ha, offer the 4 appellations of Chablis that a pinot noir completes since 2017: a Bourgogne Epineuil. The adventure continues ...

Other little stories

Letting the terroir express itself: this is the objective of Stéphanie and Vincent Michelet. And this is what we find in the wines of their two estates. Each estate has its own identity, linked to the terroir, as the vines of the two estates are not located in the same villages. The two estates thus offer a complete range, with wines with varied expressions. Stéphanie and Vincent work their vines with respect for the environment and the terroir (the estates are part of the Dephy Ecophyto Network). The wines, mainly vinified in stainless steel vats, with long maturations, give precise wines, where the Kimmeridgian is expressed in marvellous variations.
