Château de Colombière is a passionate winegrower couple who grow biodynamic wines known for their freshness and identity. On Villaudric's emblematic rolled pebble terroir, they strive to produce with passion Negrette, Cabernets, Syrah, Gamay, Chenin, Sauvignon, Cot and even rarer: the white Bouysselet, since they are the only winemakers in the world to produce it!
In 1982, Diane's father, François de Driésen, bought Château la Colombière for his love of wine and vines and contributed to the development of a range of wines rich in Négrette, the rare grape variety of the Fronton Appellation ! Taken over in 2006 by Diane and her husband Philippe Cauvin, a former lawyer, they have since then led the vineyard in biodynamics in order to promote biodyversity, understand their terroirs and the vine cycle, strengthen the immune defences of their vines, and enhance the balance and purity of their wines. They strive to create a range of wines that reflect their identity, depending on the grape varieties and terroirs, varied and modern, and that resemble them. For the past 6 years, they have been at the origin of the rediscovery and reintroduction of the historic Villaudric grape variety, the white Bouysselet, a renaissance of a great grape variety on the verge of oblivion!
When we arrived at the estate, we tried to preserve the historical heritage of the vineyard inherited from the 15th century. Attentive to the vegetation of the estate, we had to be patient and humble. We try to intervene as little as possible in the elaboration of our wines in order to reflect the richness of the terroirs and grape varieties of the estate.
