Our vineyard grows on a clayey-limestone soil that gives the wine its character. Located in the heart of the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, we benefit from a superb environment to work our vines and provide them with the best natural resources to produce a balanced wine that is accessible to all. Our oldest vines are planted on a hillside facing west, and offer us the Cuvée Le Taillou d'Yvan, a nod to the first winegrower.

Our story

The estate was created when Yvan had the idea of running a vineyard to produce his own wine... it would be a hundred years old today! Currently, Nathalie and her brother Sylvain, the third generation, operate this family estate. The sustainability of the estate is our daily driving force. Yvan and Emilienne Feydieu, the founders, started working the vines in the early 1950s to make their wine... thus the first bottles of Taillou were made. What a pride to take over this estate so dear to our family! And it's not over yet, the next generation is getting ready with Claude, Yvan and Emilienne's son. He trained at the La Tour Blanche school (in the Sauternes region), will work on the property and will take over in 1985. The Taillou is definitely a family affair. In 1993, Nicolas, Claude's son, after a school of viticulture and oenology, joined the property to give it the new impetus of the 3rd generation! Unfortunately, fate wanted otherwise, and he will leave us in 2004, cruelly swept away in a road accident. So, so that this family history does not end so abruptly and, to continue the work undertaken by Nicolas, Sylvain and Nathalie (his brother and sister) decided to take up the challenge with the help of Claude. Today, Le Taillou continues to be raised with care, to accompany each of your moments of conviviality.

Other little stories

Our French terroirs make the whole world dream, and we are the first to do so. So we decided that we had to work as hard as we could on what the land had to offer to add a drop of modernity to these traditional wines. One way for us to "stick" to today's world...it will be working in the vineyard and cellar...We work every day to obtain a supple and elegant wine that will sometimes accompany a fish, sometimes a meat (red or white) and if by chance an old bottle is hiding in your cellar, serve it on a cheese tray... the moment speaks for itself! This is exactly what we seek to achieve in our wines, sharing and happiness.
