Black is black, but there's still hope! That of discovering a wine that is exceptional in its concentration and elegance. Concentration is demonstrated by the density of the colour, by the contained power of the aromas and by the richness in the mouth. The initial aromatic restraint requires decanting to reveal notes of zan, blackberry and blackcurrant jam, Madagascar pepper, mocha, pencil lead and cinnamon. The tannins are very ample, very dense, intimately linked, installing an incredible balance with a respectable degree of alcohol and an unexpected and welcome freshness.

The word of the Winemaker, :

Parker 91-93+, Gold Medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles. Sweet elegance for this wine vinified and matured in barrels for 16 months.

Tasting

When ?

From now on, and to be kept until 2025.

How ?

Obviously, the tasting of such a wine must be shared (Brassens would say no more than four). The sharing could be done with a slice of buttered bread to get in the mouth, then a Bresse poularde with truffles or an old Salers. But you can also sip it quietly one evening under the arbour when its shadow is no longer useful because the sun has already set...

The Wine Estate

In Occitan, unà gabinelà means a vineyard shed. Thierry Rodriguez, the grandson of a winegrower, created Mas Gabinèle in 1997 in the heart of the Faugères appellation, famous for its schist terroir. nRigorous, demanding and perfectionist, he manages the vineyard, which today covers 23 hectares, with care and professionalism. His ambition is to produce great wines and to progress each year. nThe yields are deliberately low. The objective is to produce healthy and ripe grapes. Here there is no revolution, but common sense and respectful practices, recognized by the High Environmental Value certification.n The cellar is modern and functional. The equipment has been chosen to preserve the quality of the harvest. The harvest is manual, the grapes are sorted in the vineyard. The vinification is done gently, to avoid too strong extractions and produce expressive, fruity wines with soft and silky tannins and yet with good ageing potential.
