Like its cousin de Brouilly, it is to Mont Brouilly that this appellation owes its name. The vines grow on the slopes of the mountain, enjoying the sun of the east and south. The eruptive rocks that make up the soil help to forge the character of the wine produced there, exclusively red.

The only grape variety allowed is Gamay Noir, thus respecting the rules of Beaujolais! The wine is quite dark red, and its aromas are very varied: red fruits, pepper, red flowers... In the mouth it surprises for a Beaujolais wine: with fairly present tannins it will soften and round off with time. It can be kept for up to 6 years!
