The wine is so famous that it is the village that has taken its name from its « climate » and not the other way around! In 1922, the white and red wines produced in this part of the appellation convinced the village to no longer be Pernand, but Pernand-Vergelesses, honouring the grapes of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir growing in its commune!

The wines have an exceptional ageing potential, some whites can be up to 8 years old. These whites are rather light, quite pale, and in the mouth is dry and lively. The reds are very intense in colour, very....red ! and on the palate quite present tannins will make you prefer wines that have aged a little.
