Le Pécharmant has the French label Aoc as well as the European label Aop. In this wine-growing region, the wines must be made from grapes from these grape varieties: the côt, merlot, malbec, cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon, thus representing its cousinhood between southern wines and Bordeaux wines. The soil is made of sand and gravel from the Périgord, both clay and limestone. The plot yield is limited to 8,000 kg per hectare and after vinification, its limit is 45 hectolitres per hectare. Its colour is dark garnet-coloured from its youth and it reveals aromas of very ripe red fruits (blackcurrant, cherry). As it ages, it evolves towards orange nuances and the softening of the tannins allows a better length in the mouth. The elegance of this wine is reflected in the vivacity of its youth, it is powerful, fleshy and fruity with aromatic notes of violet and liquorice! Its ageing potential is 6 to 7 years, and reaches up to 15 years for great vintages. It is perfect with game (rabbit with spices) or duck confit.
