Domaine Giachino

Highness

Roussette De Savoie | White | 2022

This cuvée comes from the Altesse vineyard, planted on the sunny slopes of the moraines of the ancient Grésivaudan glacier. Hand-harvesting ensures meticulous sorting of whole bunches. Vinification begins with skin contact maceration in the press, followed by cold settling. Fermentation is slow and temperature-controlled, then the wine rests on its lees until bottling, developing richness and aromatic complexity.

Our opinion on the vintage

This wine reveals a captivating floral bouquet, enriched with hints of quince, pineapple, and sweet almonds. On the palate, its opulent texture charms with notes of buttery pears and citrus, offering a fresh tasting experience with exotic accents. Each sip delivers a lovely roundness, while the finish remains invigorating. Ideal as an aperitif, it also pairs wonderfully with fish dishes or desserts, particularly with an original recipe of langoustine and cardamom-infused coconut foam.

Giachino Estate

Domaine Giachino

Savoie | France

At the gateway to the Chartreuse mountains, Domaine Giachino benefits from a distinctly mountain environment, where the altitude and temperature variations impart a natural freshness to the wines. The vineyard has been cultivated organically for many years, with constant attention paid to the clarity of expression and the balance of ripeness.

Jacquère and Mondeuse form the heart of the production. Jacquère yields crisp, lively white wines, structured by a clean acidity and an almost saline sensation, directly linked to the Alpine environment. Mondeuse is crafted in a taut and approachable style, favoring the freshness of the fruit and fine tannins over concentration.

The winemaking process strives for precision and clarity, with limited intervention and discreet aging. The wines are distinguished by their vibrancy and drinkability, offering a clear and contemporary expression of the Savoyard terroirs, where freshness remains a key characteristic.
