Anecdotes from the Estate: The first few months after returning to Bordeaux weren't easy. A new city, a new job, a new world... I had to hold on tight to keep my feet on the ground! But it was worth it: what a pleasure it is each year to reap the rewards of a year's work! At Ogier de Gourgue, we place particular importance on respecting our terroir and the environment. To this end, we've invested in a sprayer with recovery panels for treatments, in order to limit overspray and control the volume of products used. Our aim: to cultivate authenticity while maintaining affordable prices. A Brief History of the Estate: Built in the 17th century by Ogier de Gourgue, the estate began as a hunting lodge. Later, his eldest son, Marc Antoine, took over the reins and transformed this gathering place into a wine estate. Since then, the château has changed hands many times... In 2010, after falling in love with the vineyard, Jean-Marc Vincent and his wife decided to purchase Ogier de Gourgue. Their daughter, Claire, joined them in the adventure in 2012. At 28, she decided to rethink everything and leave the frenetic pace of Parisian life to dedicate herself to the family project. After starting her career in the luxury and cosmetics industry, she is now wholeheartedly learning the demanding profession of winemaker. Father and daughter, we are combining our personal and professional experiences to best showcase our terroir. Our motto: excellence! The pride of the estate. Château Ogier de Gourgue is located 20 kilometers from the city center of Bordeaux in the commune of Saint Caprais de Bordeaux. Here, the exposure is perfect, as the vines are situated on a high plateau in the Côtes de Bordeaux. The vineyard's grape varieties are composed of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon.
