Located in the heart of the prestigious vineyard of Margaux, in Margaux-Cantenac, Château Bel Air Marquis d’Aligre embodies the classic elegance of the Médoc, enhanced by a modern and precise approach to viticulture. A historic estate deeply rooted in its gravelly terroir, the domaine benefits from exceptional soils composed of deep, perfectly draining gravel, ideal for growing Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

The meticulously tended, mostly mature vines send their roots deep into the soil, absorbing all the mineral complexity of the subsoil. This natural richness yields grapes with intense aromatic concentration while retaining freshness and balance. Each plot is closely monitored to ensure harvest at peak ripeness, resulting in wines that are both powerful and refined.

In the cellar, winemaking is carried out with the utmost precision: carefully controlled extraction and meticulously balanced barrel aging, all designed to enhance the fruit without ever masking the expression of the terroir. The château’s wines are distinguished by their silky texture, elegant structure, and aromatic depth. They feature notes of blackcurrant, blackberry, and black cherry, accompanied by hints of cedar, sweet spices, and occasionally the slightly smoky nuances typical of great Margaux wines.

On the palate, the balance is remarkable: a full-bodied attack, a fine, velvety tannic structure, and a long, fresh, and elegant finish. These are wines that offer immense pleasure when young, yet possess superb aging potential, gaining in complexity and harmony over the years.

Château Bel Air Marquis d’Aligre thus produces wines that reflect their terroir: noble, elegant, and quintessentially Médoc, where power is always expressed with finesse.
