Our opinion on the vintage

On the nose, this wine reveals complex aromas of ripe red fruit, mingled with spicy and forest floor notes. On the palate, it surprises with its freshness and elegant profile, boasting a silky texture and a beautiful persistence. The vineyard's altitude translates into exceptional vibrancy, highlighting mineral nuances that harmoniously complement the fruity flavors. Light aging in oak barrels enriches the structure without weighing it down, and the subtle tannins provide excellent definition. This wine finishes with a clean and delicate finish, inviting a second tasting to further explore its subtleties.

Escoda-Sanahuja

Catalogne | Espagne

Escoda-Sanahuja is a family-run winery located in the Conca de Barberà region of Catalonia, Spain, renowned for its production of natural and biodynamic wines. Winemaker Joan Ramón Escoda developed this project after experimenting with biodynamic viticulture in France, and since the 2000s he has worked according to natural winemaking principles with minimal intervention and often without the addition of sulfites.

The estate's vines are cultivated organically on the diverse soils of Conca de Barberà, producing red, white, and rosé wines. The wines are crafted using spontaneous fermentation and careful aging in tanks or barrels, highlighting the pure expression of the fruit and the typicity of the Catalan terroir.

The estate is considered a benchmark in the natural wine movement in Spain, producing wines imbued with freshness, aromatic complexity and a strong local identity.
