Our opinion on the vintage
Bartolo Mascarello
The Bartolo Mascarello estate is an iconic winery located in Barolo, Piedmont. Its origins date back to the early 20th century, with official structuring in 1918 by Giulio Mascarello. The estate is currently managed by Maria Teresa Mascarello, who perpetuates a deeply traditional vision of Barolo wines.
The vineyard covers approximately 5 hectares spread across several historic Barolo crus. The grape varieties cultivated are predominantly Nebbiolo, complemented by Barbera and Dolcetto. The wines are vinified using traditional methods, with long macerations and extended aging in large oak casks.
The estate is known for producing a single Barolo cuvée, made from a blend of several parcels. I have no information regarding any official certifications or labels.
