Our opinion on the vintage
Okro's wines
Okro's Wines is a natural winery located in Sighnaghi, in the Kakheti wine region of Georgia. Founded by John Okruashvili, who began bottling his own wines around 2009 in his home village, he cultivates a few hectares of indigenous grape varieties such as Saperavi and Takveri for reds, as well as Tsolikouri, Kakhuri Mtsvane, and Rkatsiteli for whites, practicing organic viticulture and traditional winemaking.
The wines are made using traditional Georgian methods, with prolonged maceration and fermentation in qvevri (large buried terracotta amphorae), without the addition of oenological inputs or chemical treatments, in order to allow the fruit, minerality and personality of the terroir to fully express themselves.
Okro's Wines production includes white, red and orange wines with rich aromatic profiles and an energy characteristic of the Georgian winemaking tradition, representing one of the most authentic expressions of the Kakheti vineyard.
