Pacherenc Du Vic-Bilh | Blanc | 2022

Since its founding in 1986, the Capmartin estate has been moving toward an environmentally friendly approach. With a complete transition to organic farming in 2010, the vines are cultivated without synthetic products. The wine is made primarily from Petit Manseng, with a meticulous winemaking process involving a 32-day fermentation and aging on the lees in tanks—20% of which is in barrels—for six months, to develop remarkable aromatic complexity.

Our Review of the Cuvée

This wine is, above all, a work of precision. On the nose, it reveals an immediate complexity where exotic fruits blend with a briny character and the delicate notes of citrus zest. On the palate, the structure is clean and well-defined, carried by a vibrant freshness that highlights flavors of roasted pineapple and passion fruit. The long, clean finish lingers with lovely bitter notes of bitter orange and a smoky-spicy touch, revealing all the elegance and tension of this terroir.

Domaine Capmartin

South-West | France

Within the Madiran appellation, Domaine Capmartin is dedicated to offering a renewed interpretation of Tannat, the emblematic grape variety of Southwest France. The work carried out in the vineyard and cellar aims to preserve the grape's natural structure while softening its expression through measured technical choices.

Winemaking processes prioritize moderate extractions and a judicious use of oak, allowing for enhanced wine aeration. This approach yields red wines with a prominent tannic structure that unfolds with greater suppleness and fluidity. The fruit gains clarity, textures achieve balance, and the finishes remain remarkably digestible.

The entire range of cuvées offers a modern and coherent interpretation of Madiran, focusing on freshness, clarity, and the wines' evolution, while preserving the identity of both the terroir and the grape variety.
