Our opinion on the vintage
Domaine Bertrand Galbrun
Domaine Bertrand Galbrun is located in Benais, in the Touraine region, within the Bourgueil appellation. Bertrand Galbrun cultivates his vines biodynamically, and the estate has been Demeter certified since 2015. The winemaker prioritizes terroir, meticulous soil care, and painstaking winemaking practices to express the full richness of the Cabernet Franc grape.
The vineyards are spread across three communes within the appellation (Benais, Bourgueil, and Restigné), thus offering three distinct terroirs that give rise to different cuvées: Chatrois on sandy soils, Impétueuse on gravel, and La Tempérance on tuffeau. Each wine reflects the freshness, lusciousness, and natural acidity of the grapes.
The estate produces honest and balanced wines, highlighting the typicity and purity of Bourgueil cabernet franc, respecting local traditions and the natural rhythms of the vine.
