Domaine Dufaitre

Beaujolais-Villages First Fruits

Beaujolais Villages | Red | 2022

Laurence and Rémi Dufaitre's wines are distinguished by their authentic approach to Beaujolais. Rémi Dufaitre, faithful to carbonic maceration, works with respect for local traditions while adopting organic practices. He uses indigenous yeasts for fermentation and adjusts sulfur only when necessary to stabilize his cuvées. Their aging process varies, thus ensuring a unique personality for each wine. These wines are a true invitation to discover the richness of the Brouilly terroir and the surrounding crus.

Our opinion on the vintage

At first glance, its translucent ruby robe captivates with its elegance. On the nose, it offers a fine and intense bouquet of violet, Morello cherry, and raspberry, with a subtle smoky note and sweet spices. On the palate, one savors a round and velvety, ethereal texture that exalts pure and vibrant fruit, enhanced by a touch of smoke. The finish, with its invigorating freshness, reveals delicate tannins that prolong the pleasure with lingering notes of Morello cherry, cherry pit, and violet. This is a wine with a harmoniously balanced structure, leaving a lasting and refined impression.

Beaujolais | France

In Saint-Étienne-des-Ouillères, in the heart of Beaujolais, Laurence and Rémi Dufaitre have been running their estate organically since 2006. Their vineyards, spread across Brouilly and neighboring crus, are cultivated with meticulous attention to the soil and the balance of each plot. Laurence, equally involved, ensures the continuity of the work and the day-to-day organization. Together, they are developing the production facilities step by step, notably with the addition of a new winery in 2020, designed to be more functional without sacrificing the artisanal spirit.

The winemaking process follows the Beaujolais tradition, with controlled carbonic maceration. Aging varies depending on the cuvée and vintage, always with the aim of accompanying the ... Lire plus
