Domaine des Fournelles
Established in Saint-Lager since 1947, in the heart of the Beaujolais crus, Domaine des Fournelles is a family business passed down through three generations. Here, there's no race for expansion or a proliferation of appellations: the choice is clear and deliberate. The estate focuses on just two crus, Brouilly and Côte de Brouilly, to fully express their unique character.
These two appellations, often confused, are based on very different terroirs. The estate is committed to showcasing them with precision through traditional Beaujolais winemaking, perfectly suited to Gamay Noir à Jus Blanc, the only grape variety cultivated here. The vines, planted on the hillsides of the southeast-facing slopes of the Brouilly mountain, benefit from ideal sun exposure, which brings depth and aromatic richness to the wines. The harvest is exclusively by hand.
