Our opinion on the vintage
Domaine Valentin Zusslin
In the Haut-Rhin region, Domaine Valentin Zusslin has been cultivating its vines biodynamically for many years, particularly on the slopes of Bollenberg and around Orschwihr. These areas, characterized by varied soils and a dry, windy climate, provide a favorable environment for precise and balanced expressions of Alsatian grape varieties.
Rieslings, Gewurztraminers, and Pinot Noirs are crafted with meticulous attention to ripeness and preserving freshness. The wines are distinguished by pure fruit, a clean structure, and sustained energy on the palate. Aging is carefully managed, adding depth and structure without weighing down the wines or masking the grapes' origin.
The entire range of wines displays a strong stylistic coherence, driven by a distinct identity of place. The estate offers a rigorous and accessible expression of its terroirs, where tension and precision are constant hallmarks.
