Our opinion on the vintage
Château de Lavernette
Château de Lavernette is a historic estate located at the crossroads of the Mâconnais and Beaujolais regions, in the communes of Chaintré and Leynes. A former seigneury founded in 1596, the estate previously belonged to the monks of Tournus Abbey, where vineyards already held a central place. Today, the property is owned by the de Boissieu family, direct descendants of the de Lavernette family. Xavier de Boissieu represents the thirteenth generation to produce wine on this land. Since 2005, he has worked alongside his wife, Kerrie, an American oenologist, combining their experience and expertise. The vineyard has been managed organically and biodynamically since then, with respect for the environment, in order to produce wines deeply marked by their terroir.
