The Murtet 2019

Champagne | White | 2019

This Le Murtet Champagne, certified organic and biodynamic, comes from a single plot in the siliceous-limestone terroir of the Saint-Thierry Massif. The blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay is made at harvest time to guarantee the wine's harmony. Vinification and aging in new demi-muids, combined with gentle lees stirring, add body to this Brut Nature, which is distinguished by its zero dosage, offering a pure and authentic expression.

Our opinion on the vintage

At first glance, Le Murtet, captivating with its pale and luminous color, reveals subtle aromas of white fruit and dried flowers on the nose. On the palate, it charms with its vivacity and precision. The silky texture of the Chardonnay blends with the assertive character of the Pinot Noir, offering delicate flavors of pear and a hint of almond. The long, mineral finish reveals the elegance of the siliceous-limestone terroir. Perfect at 10°C, it pairs wonderfully with fish, poultry, and cheeses, enhancing their flavors.

Champagne | France

The estate converted to biodynamic farming several years ago, resulting in precise, vibrant Champagnes that prioritize brilliance over power. Barrel fermentation imparts a full texture without weighing down the wines. A common thread runs through the wines: fine bubbles, clean aromatics, and a tension that carries them through to the finish. The single-vineyard cuvées showcase the diversity of the Marne Valley soils, with distinct nuances between chalk, sand, and clay.
